A one-year-old girl has died after being struck by a vehicle at a home in Tanilba Bay on Tuesday evening.
Emergency services were called to Lloyd George Grove just after 5.40pm following reports a child had been hit by a car on private property. Police from the Port Stephens–Hunter District arrived to find the toddler had been struck by a Toyota utility.
She was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and rushed to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition, but tragically died a short time later.
The 25-year-old driver was not injured and underwent mandatory testing.
Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
