A family is grieving an unimaginable loss after a four-year-old boy died following a drowning incident at a home in Port Stephens on Friday night.
Emergency services were called to a property at Bobs Farm about 7.30pm on Friday, 9 January 2026, after reports the young boy had been pulled unconscious from a swimming pool.
In a desperate effort to save him, family members immediately began CPR, continuing until NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived and took over life-saving measures.
The child was treated at the scene before being rushed to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he later died in hospital.
Officers from the Port Stephens/Hunter Police District attended the scene and have begun inquiries to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
