A five-year-old girl has died after being hit by a ute in Sydney’s northwest on Thursday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Clower Avenue, Rouse Hill, about 3:45pm following reports that a child on a scooter had been struck by a vehicle.
Police say the girl was riding along the footpath when she was hit by a Toyota Hilux. She was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to Westmead Children’s Hospital in critical condition, where she later died.
The 42-year-old male driver was taken to Blacktown Hospital for mandatory testing.
Police from The Hills Police Area Command have established a crime scene and seized both the Hilux and the scooter for forensic examination as investigations continue.
