Emergency services responded to a serious truck crash on Putty Road, Putty, around 9am today.
A semi-trailer carrying approximately 20,000 litres of liquid believed to be fish waste rolled down an embankment at Bobby Swamp Creek, trapping the driver — a man in his 50s — for more than six hours.
Multiple agencies worked together in a complex rescue effort to free the man, who sustained chest, pelvis and leg injuries. NSW Ambulance paramedics treated and stabilised him at the scene before he was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition.
Authorities praised the coordinated response from all emergency crews involved.
