In a recent development, a 23-year-old man has been granted strict conditional bail and is scheduled to appear at Newcastle Local Court later this month.
The man was arrested following an alleged incident at the University of Newcastle’s city campus on Monday, April 29, 2024. Reports received by the Newcastle Police District suggested that the man had allegedly filmed women in a bathroom.
After extensive investigations, officers apprehended the suspect at a residence in Fletcher around 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2024. He was subsequently charged with intentionally recording intimate images without consent and taken to Waratah Police Station.
The man is expected to face court on Thursday, May 30, 2024.
