Walka Water Works will partially reopen to the public from Monday 5 December.
Deputy Mayor Mitchell Griffin made the announcement on his Facebook Page earlier this morning.
“The initial, partial reopening stage will restore access, reopen the walking and running trails, the car park, and the toilet block.
The remainder of the Walka Water Works site remains closed to the public and will be reopened in a staged approach, as we work with Crown Lands to complete remediation works.
After a way forward was determined, we encountered delays against our initial November timeframe with longer than expected lead times for materials and the discovery of some unexpected and urgent repairs around the site.” Wrote Deputy Mayor Mitchell Griffin.
