In an early morning incident today, Wallsend Fire and Rescue swiftly responded to reports of a significant motor vehicle crash at the junction of Brook St and Close St. The collision, occurring around 6:00 am on Saturday, December 2, 2023, left two vehicles severely damaged, causing a blockage at the intersection. Emergency crews were dispatched to manage the aftermath, with oil and debris strewn across the roadway.
Efforts to clear the scene involved the deployment of a tow truck, assisting in the removal of the damaged vehicles. Wallsend Fire and Rescue diligently worked to ensure the safe removal of any remaining debris and oil, restoring the affected area.
Despite the intensity of the crash, both drivers involved received medical attention from NSW Ambulance at the scene but did not require hospitalization.
