WALLSEND SCHOOL STUDENTS SENT HOME AFTER ANOTHER STUDENT WAS DEEMED A CLOSE CONTACT

Macquarie College in Wallsend had a Covid scare today after a student was deemed a close contact of a covid positive case.

Its believed the student visited a petrol station in Goulburn at the same time as a confirmed case did back on July 16th.

The year two student has since returned a negative test result and will remain in home quarantine for the next 14 days.

The classroom will be cleaned and students will return to school as normal tomorrow.
