Yesterday fire crews were deployed to Ridgeview estate in the Hunter Valley after reports of a large shed on fire, upon arrival the shed was engulfed in flames. Family and staff were able save some equipment, surrounding structures and bush before firefighters could arrive and take over.
Crews worked for hours to to extinguish the fire and ensure that building was safe. Vineyard equipment, wine and 20 years of history we’re lost in yesterdays fire.
A statement from Ridgeview Estate was issued this morning.
Thank you all for the concern. All staff, family and animals are safe.
It was a machinery/equipment shed with almost 20 years of our history, equipment and some wine.
We are thankful for quick actions of family and staff who helped saved some equipment, surrounding structures and bush before firefighters could arrive and take over.
Our business operating hours have not been affected and we are still open Thursday to Sunday. Hope to see you soon!
