A beloved Cessnock local, known as the Hairy Scotsman, has revealed a harrowing late-night encounter outside his home, involving two youths armed with knives.
In a statement shared on social media, the Hairy Scotsman described the unsettling incident that occurred outside what he humorously calls “Hairy Towers.” According to his account, two individuals approached late at night, making their intentions clear through their behavior and appearance.
“I had a word,” he wrote, “and one showed me his limited knife collection.”
Thankfully, the barber escaped the confrontation unharmed. The police were quick to respond, taking security footage and collecting evidence, including a can left behind by one of the individuals, for fingerprint analysis.
“The police were good—they were proactive,” he said, adding that he is now taking a day off to recover, humorously sharing that he plans to spend the day “watching Chuck Norris movies.”
