Cessnock Council says ample parking… Yeah Nah

Cessnock city council says there’s ample parking in the CBD and you’re not looking in the right places for parking or just unaware of these parking spaces.

Ian Olsen plan to build a multi-level car park was voted down. Cessnock council plans to better highlight existing car parks in and around the CBD.

Cessnock councils say they have 10 free parks with a total of 632 car parks in the CBD

According to the 2016 Census, 4,061 homes have 3 or more cars, 7,175 households have 2 or more cars, 6,393 households have at least 1 car and 1,012 households said they have no cars.

According to these figures, there are around 37,000 cars in Cessnock fighting for 632 car parking spaces and the council has the audacity to say there’s ample parking in Cessnock.

Whilst the’s a few private free car parks provided by businesses in Cessnock there are just more cars than car parking spaces and it can become quite frustrating looking for a car park in peak times.
