Let’s talk about something we’re apparently not supposed to notice.
Anthony Albanese wants to take guns away from law-abiding Australians. Not criminals. Not gang members. Not people who already ignore the law. No—you. The people who follow the rules. The people who’ve never hurt anyone. The people the government claims it exists to protect.
But then something interesting happens.
After the Bondi tragedy, the Prime Minister shows up to a public vigil—a moment meant to honour victims, to stand with everyday Australians—and suddenly the rules change. Armed federal police everywhere. Close-protection officers surrounding him. Rooftops quietly occupied by snipers.
Snipers.
Now we’re told this is about “public safety.” But let’s be honest for just a moment—because honesty is the one thing missing from this debate. Those rifles on the rooftops weren’t there to protect you. They weren’t scanning the crowd for threats to random citizens lighting candles.
Their first job—their only real job—was to protect Anthony Albanese.
And that’s the hypocrisy Australians are starting to see.
The same politicians who say civilians can’t be trusted with firearms somehow trust them completely when they’re wearing government-issued uniforms and guarding politicians. The same leaders who claim guns make society less safe refuse to go anywhere without armed men between them and the public.
Ask yourself this:
If guns don’t save lives, why does Anthony Albanese rely on them?
If armed protection doesn’t work, why does every politician demand it?
And if firearms are such an unacceptable risk in civilian hands, why are they suddenly essential the moment a politician steps into a crowd?
Here’s the truth they won’t say out loud: gun control isn’t about safety. It’s about hierarchy.
There’s one set of rules for the political class—armed guards, secure perimeters, snipers overhead—and another set for everyone else: trust the system, stay defenceless, and hope nothing goes wrong.
They don’t actually believe guns are the problem. If they did, they’d lead by example. They’d walk into crowds unarmed, protected only by the same laws they impose on you.
But they don’t. Because deep down, they know the world can be dangerous. And when danger appears, they want trained men with guns ready to respond—immediately.
Just not for you.
