On Thursday a 33 year old Cessnock man was arrested and charged after he attended Centrelink and when talking to staff on a phone became upset, hanging the phone up with such force that it was broken from the wall mountings.
The male left and was later spoken to at his home address, where he was arrested and charged with Malicious damage and an outstanding warrant. He will appear before the magistrate next month to explain his actions. Many people may be able to relate to his frustration, but staff and other customers should not be subjected to this type of behaviour.
