A civilian employee of the NSW Police Force has been charged following an investigation into alleged domestic violence offences in the Northern Region.

Police were notified on Friday 3 July 2026 that a woman had allegedly accessed the email accounts of another woman known to her without consent.

Following inquiries, officers executed a search warrant at a home in Buttaba the same day, where a laptop was seized as part of the investigation.

A 44-year-old woman, employed as a civilian within a Northern Region command, was arrested and taken to Toronto Police Station. She was charged with three offences, including:

• Access/modify restricted data held in computer
• Stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (domestic)
• Knowingly contravene prohibition/order in force (domestic violence AVO)

The woman was initially refused bail and appeared before Bail Division Court 2 on Saturday 4 July 2026, where she was granted strict conditional bail.

She is due to appear before Newcastle Local Court on Tuesday 14 July 2026.

NSW Police have confirmed she has been suspended with pay.
