Three men have been charged following an investigation into a series of alleged armed bottle shop robberies in Muswellbrook last week.

Police allege that about 7.45pm on Friday, 3 July, a group of men targeted three bottle shops across the town.

The group allegedly first entered a bottle shop on Rutherford Road, where an employee was threatened with a hammer before alcohol was stolen.

Moments later, police allege the same group entered a bottle shop on Sydney Street, threatening a staff member with a knife before stealing more alcohol.

The group then allegedly targeted a third bottle shop on Bridge Street, threatening another employee before fleeing in a silver ute with cases of beer, spirits and pre-mixed drinks.

Officers attached to Hunter Valley Police District established crime scenes at all three locations and launched an investigation.

About 8am on Sunday, 5 July, police located the alleged getaway vehicle at a home on Sydney Street, Muswellbrook. The ute was seized for forensic examination.

An 18-year-old man was arrested at the property and charged with two counts of robbery armed with an offensive weapon (accessory after the fact), robbery in company (accessory after the fact), and owner not disclose identity of driver/passenger.

He was initially refused bail before being granted strict conditional bail in court yesterday. He is due to appear before Newcastle Local Court on 2 September 2026.

Yesterday morning, detectives executed search warrants at a home in Moobi and two homes in Scone.

During the searches, police allegedly seized a hammer, a knife, clothing and alcohol believed to be linked to the robberies.

Two men, aged 18 and 27, were arrested and taken to Muswellbrook Police Station.

Both have been charged with two counts of robbery armed with an offensive weapon and one count of robbery in company.

They were refused bail and were due to appear before Bail Division Court today.

Police say investigations into the alleged robberies remain ongoing.
