A Queensland police officer tragically died in a motorcycle accident in the Northern Tablelands on Wednesday, 11 September 2024.

Emergency services were called to the Gwydir Highway, approximately 20 kilometers east of Glen Innes, around 3:20 PM following reports of a single-vehicle crash. The 58-year-old motorcyclist was attempting to overtake another rider when he lost control and went down an embankment. Despite public attempts to administer CPR, the officer was pronounced dead at the scene.

The officer was participating in the 2024 Wall to Wall Ride, an event that honors fallen officers.
