Councillors Ian Olsen and John Fagg have both confirmed that Cessnock tip will reopen from the 1st of may by appointment only for the general public, details are thin on how the booking system will work and how many people will be able to use the tip each day.
We had well over 100 people sign our petition in for councillors to act swiftly and put the pressure on the CWMC to reverse the decision to close to general public. Access to dump is an essential part of life and essential to maintaining a safe clean yard for your family.
From the 1st of May the tip will reopen by appointment only for the general public, it’s important to note that if you show up without an appointment you will be turned away.
Whilst making an appointment is not ideal and inconvenient it is a start to returning to normal.
