Teen to Face Court Following Alleged Break-In and Pursuit

Breaking News: Teen to Face Court Following Alleged Break-In and Pursuit

A teenager is set to appear in court today after being charged in connection with an investigation into an alleged break and enter incident in Lake Macquarie, followed by a police pursuit.

Yesterday, Wednesday 27 March 2024, a home in Valentine was reportedly targeted, resulting in the theft of a Porsche Cayenne and an Audi A5.

Early this morning, Thursday 28 March 2024, officers from Newcastle City Police District spotted both stolen vehicles on patrol along Minmi Road, Fletcher.

Upon attempting to stop the vehicles, they allegedly fled, prompting a pursuit. While the Porsche managed to evade authorities, the Audi was pursued to Heatherbrae, where it eventually lost control and came to a halt near the Pacific Highway and Masonite Road intersection.

The driver, a 17-year-old male, was apprehended at the scene and transported to Raymond Terrace Police Station, where he was formally charged with multiple offenses including stealing a motor vehicle, aggravated break and enter, and engaging in a police pursuit.

The teenager has been denied bail and is scheduled to appear before a children’s court later today.

Authorities continue their investigations to locate the remaining stolen vehicle and any other individuals involved in the incident. Stay tuned for further updates.
