A man has been charged with alleged child sex offences in the state’s Lake Macquarie region. In April 2019, detectives from Lake Macquarie Police District established Strike Force Arapaima to re-examine the investigation into the unsolved disappearances and suspected murders of three teenage girls in the Lake Macquarie area. As a result of extensive inquiries through this investigation, strike force detectives uncovered allegations of alleged child sexual offences against two teenage boys between 1987 and 2007 in Lake Macquarie and on the Mid North Coast.
