UPDATE: Man Seen in Handcuffs During Cessnock Police Operation

A police operation continues in Cessnock following a heavy emergency response at a unit block on the corner of Darwin and Cooper Streets.

While police have confirmed there is no threat to the public, witnesses at the scene reported seeing a man being outside in handcuffs as officers maintained a cordoned-off perimeter.

A specialist police vehicle and multiple officers were previously deployed to the area, attracting a large crowd outside the exclusion zone.

Police have not confirmed any arrests or provided further details at this stage, saying additional information will be released when operationally appropriate.

The situation remains contained.
