
HUNTER POLICE RAID REVEALS: 500L diesel cache and stolen vehicles found on property
Detectives from the Rural Crime Prevention Team attached to the Hunter Valley Police District have uncovered a significant haul of allegedly stolen property following a targeted investigation into rural crime across the region.
The operation, carried out on Wednesday 22 April 2026, involved Rural Crime investigators with assistance from Hunter Valley Highway Patrol, who attended a property on Falbrook Road, Falbrook, in the Singleton local government area.
At the scene, officers located a stolen Toyota Hilux 4×4 parked on the property. In the tray of the vehicle was a 1000-litre IBC container holding approximately 500 litres of diesel, prompting further investigation.
Police then executed a search warrant at the address, uncovering a range of additional items believed to be stolen. These included a black Kawasaki motorcycle, a portable water cart and hose reel trailer, a rooftop tent with accessories, and property allegedly linked to a 2024 break and enter in Denman.
Two men were subsequently charged as part of the investigation.
A 26-year-old man was charged with multiple offences including three counts of be carried in conveyance, larceny, two counts of drive whilst disqualified, goods in custody, and an outstanding warrant. He was refused bail and is due to appear at Muswellbrook Local Court on 2 June 2026.
A 30-year-old man was also charged with five counts of goods in custody and be carried in conveyance. He was granted conditional court bail and is scheduled to appear at Singleton Local Court on 11 June 2026.
Police say inquiries under the Rural Crime Prevention Team remain ongoing as they continue to target theft and organised rural property crime across the Hunter Valley region.
