HUNTER EVENTS UPDATE: The Prime Minister announced yesterday that non-essential, organised, gatherings of more than 500 people will be advised against from MONDAY in order to control the spread of COVID-19. Hunter health officials say the response to containing the coronavirus has so far been proportionate and effective, with the risk of the virus spreading in Newcastle and the Hunter still relatively low.
