An investigation is underway after two people were coughed on by an unknown man in the state’s Hunter Region yesterday. Just before 2pm (Sunday 12 April 2020), a 73-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman were walking along Victoria Parade, Nelson Bay, and as they approached the pedestrian crossing, a white Nissan Navara slowed and pulled up beside them. Police have been told that a man leaned his head and shoulders out of the passenger window and coughed – making a retching sound – over the couple.
