Firefighters were called to a major house fire in Aberdare this morning, arriving to find the building fully engulfed in flames. First on the scene were crews from Cessnock 254 Alpha and Bravo, followed by Kearsley 344, who worked swiftly to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby properties.
Before emergency crews arrived, members of the public stepped in and bravely assisted in rescuing occupants trapped inside the home. Those rescued suffered smoke inhalation and minor burns and were later transported to the hospital by ambulance for further treatment.
Local police arrived shortly after, aiding with evacuations and supporting the rescue efforts. Authorities are now investigating the cause of the fire.
