At around 3 AM today, the Cessnock District Rescue Squad was called to assist NSW Ambulance with a domestic rescue in Kurri Kurri. The operation involved aiding a person with a broken leg who needed to be safely brought down from a first-floor apartment.
Due to the challenging staircase, the rescue team opted for a “ladder hinge” maneuver. One panel of the safety railing was carefully removed, allowing for a secure extrication. The individual was safely lowered to ground level and transferred to an awaiting ambulance for transport to the hospital.
The Cessnock District Rescue Squad’s quick response ensured the casualty received prompt medical attention.
