Firefighters were called to a house fire in East Cessnock just after 1 PM today. High temperatures and humidity added to the challenge for crews in full structural gear, but they managed to quickly contain the blaze and protect neighboring properties.
Emergency services, including Police and Ambulance, were on scene to assist. The swift response from Fire and Rescue NSW, with support from Cessnock, Bellbird, and Kearsley stations, helped prevent further damage.
Authorities remind residents that working smoke alarms save lives.
