At approximately 9:40 AM on Saturday, 5 October, emergency services were called to the scene of a serious motorcycle accident near Ravensdale. The Westpac Rescue Helicopter, tasked by NSW Ambulance, responded swiftly to assist in the rescue operation.
A man in his 20s was involved in the crash and sustained a severe back injury. NSW Ambulance paramedics were first on the scene, providing immediate medical care. Due to the remote and challenging location of the accident, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter’s critical care medical team was also dispatched to assist in the rescue.
After being treated on the ground, the injured man was winched to safety by the helicopter crew. He was stabilized and airlifted to John Hunter Hospital, where he is receiving further treatment for his injuries.
