A woman has tragically died after being found with severe burns at a unit complex in Sydney’s southwest on Monday afternoon.
Emergency services rushed to the scene on Vicliffe Avenue, Campsie, just before 3pm on November 25, 2024, after the 44-year-old woman was discovered in a stairwell with extensive burns to her body. NSW Ambulance paramedics treated her at the scene before she was taken to Concord Hospital in critical condition.

Despite the best efforts of medical staff, police confirmed later that evening, around 9:25pm, that the woman had died from her injuries. No one else was injured in the incident.
Officers from Campsie Police Area Command quickly set up a crime scene and launched an investigation into what led to the horrific burns. As of now, the woman’s identity has not been officially confirmed, and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
