$1M Cannabis Seized in Hydro House Raid – Man Charged
Following a months-long investigation into illegal drug cultivation, law enforcement officers from the Hunter Valley Police District executed a search warrant at a residence in Midanga Avenue, Muswellbrook. The raid, conducted yesterday morning, uncovered a highly sophisticated hydroponic cannabis operation.
Inside the residence, officers discovered an advanced hydroponic system equipped with artificial lighting and watering mechanisms. A total of 188 cannabis plants were seized, along with 18.4kg of dried cannabis meticulously packaged in vacuum-sealed bags.
Authorities estimate the street value of the seized plants at $550,000, with an additional $460,000 for the dried cannabis. A 55-year-old man was apprehended at the scene and subsequently charged with involvement in the cultivation and supply of cannabis.
The suspect is scheduled to appear before Singleton Local Court today, where he faces charges related to his alleged participation in the illicit drug trade.
