A five-year-old girl and her 6-week-old sister were among three people seriously injured in a crash at Lake Macquarie overnight. About 9.15pm (Monday 19 October 2020), emergency services were called to Bareki Road near Eleebana Road, Eleebana, following reports of a head-on crash involving two cars. It is believed a blue Honda Civic sedan travelling in a southerly direction failed to negotiate a bend and crossed onto the incorrect side of the road and collided with a silver Ford Mondeo sedan, travelling in the opposite direction.
