Newcastle emergency services have successfully rescued a paraglider who crashed into a cliff earlier today, following a multi-agency rescue operation. The incident took place at around 1:20 pm in Fletcher Park on Watt Street, prompting a swift response from local authorities.
Upon arrival, rescue teams found the paraglider stuck 25 meters down the cliff face, and quickly initiated a rescue operation. Officers from Newcastle City Police Districts and the Police Rescue Squad, along with NSW Ambulance paramedics, worked together to extricate the man via vertical rescue.
