In the early hours of this morning, firefighters from Fire and Rescue NSW Stations 254, 220, 344, and 418 rushed to the scene of a raging inferno that engulfed a local residence near Cessnock.
Miraculously, the residents were able to flee the scene unharmed, but the house was reduced to smoldering ruins.
Fire and rescue crews from Lake Macquarie (Cardiff) were required to man Cessnock Station because this incident took all available resources in the Cessnock area to bring the blaze under control hightling a need for more Fire n Rescue stations to be built and manned in the region.
NSW Ambulance and Hunter Valley Police District were also on hand to offer their assistance.
