Concerns have arisen as a pilot and his dog remain unaccounted for after their helicopter seemingly vanished in the vicinity of Port Stephens. The helicopter had departed from Cessnock en route to Wallace Island near Kempsey yesterday at 8:50 am, but failed to reach its intended destination. Authorities from the Port Stephens-Hunter Police District are intensifying efforts, combing the land and sea around the area with the assistance of the Marine Area Command.
