A fierce house fire broke out on Coulson Avenue in Cessnock around 8:50pm, prompting an immediate response from multiple emergency services.
At approximately 8:50 PM on Friday, 18 April 2025, crews from Cessnock Fire and Rescue, Bellbird Fire and Rescue, and Kearsley Fire and Rescue were called to the scene of a raging fire at a residential property. Upon arrival, firefighters were met with a fully engulfed house, with flames consuming much of the structure.
As of now, it is unclear whether anyone was inside the house at the time of the blaze or if any injuries have been sustained. Emergency crews quickly set to work battling the flames, aiming to prevent further spread to nearby properties. The intense heat and size of the fire have made it difficult for crews to confirm the exact details of the situation.
Local residents reported seeing thick smoke and bright flames as the fire spread rapidly across the home. Firefighters worked to ensure the safety of surrounding properties. Due to the severity of the fire, additional resources from neighboring fire stations were brought in to assist with the response.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, and authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the incident. Police and fire safety teams will be working together to assess the scene once the fire is fully contained.
At this stage, emergency crews are focused on ensuring the fire is completely extinguished, and no further risks are posed to the area. The community remains on edge as the investigation unfolds, with locals anxiously awaiting more information.
