Mayor Jay Suvaal of Cessnock City Council provided a positive update on the city’s road infrastructure, reporting substantial improvements in road maintenance and capital works during the last financial year. Since taking office just over 18 months ago, Mayor Suvaal has been focused on addressing the community’s primary concern – the state of local roads.
In his recent announcement, Mayor Suvaal stated that the Council achieved a record $10.9 million expenditure on road maintenance and invested an additional $28 million in capital works dedicated to road upgrades. These figures reflect an impressive increase of nearly 250% compared to the results achieved four years ago.
