Drama unfolded off the coast of Swansea Heads this morning when a 5-metre runabout encountered engine troubles, causing it to capsize and throw its two occupants overboard.
The situation quickly escalated when both men struggled to stay afloat, forcing volunteers from Marine Rescue Lake Macquarie to respond with their sea-going response vessel, “Lake Macquarie Three Zero” and Rescue Water Craft (RWC).
Thankfully, both individuals were rescued and transferred to the Swansea RSL Club boat ramp where they were examined by the Ambulance Service NSW.
