At around 11:40pm last night, emergency services responded to reports of a serious motor vehicle collision on Leggetts Drive involving a person trapped inside a utility.
On arrival, crews confirmed one person was confined inside the vehicle, which had come to rest on its side with significant damage. The vehicle was stabilised, and rescue crews from VRA Rescue NSW, working alongside NSW Ambulance, NSW Rural Fire Service, and NSW Police Force, began the delicate task of freeing the occupant.
Using hydraulic rescue tools, responders performed a roof fold to gain access to the casualty and create a safe extrication route. Once removed from the vehicle, the patient was assessed by paramedics, and a decision was made to transport them to hospital by road, with a rescue helicopter placed on standby.
A coordinated effort between all responding agencies ensured a safe and successful rescue operation.
