Fake Gun Terror at Bar Beach” — Two Males Spark Panic Before Fleeing Scene

Police are urgently appealing for information after two males allegedly made a mock firearm gesture in a busy carpark at Bar Beach, sparking concern among locals.

The incident unfolded about 5.50pm Friday (24 April) on Memorial Drive, where witnesses reported the pair mimicking the use of a gun before fleeing the scene in a white Toyota LandCruiser. (NSW Police)

Officers from Newcastle City Police District have since tracked down a 23-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy at a Jesmond address as investigations continue. (NSW Police)

Police are now calling on anyone who was in the area — particularly those with dashcam or CCTV footage — to come forward as they work to piece together exactly what happened. (NSW Police)
