Gas Leak in Birmingham Gardens Promptly Contained Birmingham Gardens, May 21, 2024 – At around 3:00 PM, Wallsend Fire and Rescue responded to reports of a significant gas leak on Naughton Avenue. On arrival, crews discovered two domestic gas meters severely damaged, releasing large quantities of gas into the atmosphere. With swift action and the assistance of Jemena, the gas leak was promptly isolated.
