Breaking News Update: Teens Charged in Cameron Park Alcohol Theft
In a daring heist yesterday, two teenagers stand accused of pilfering a substantial quantity of alcohol from a Cameron Park establishment. At approximately 7:45 pm on Monday, April 15, 2024, a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old, both females, purportedly donned masks and hoodies before entering a retail outlet.
Eyewitnesses report that the duo swiftly seized nearly 30 bottles of alcohol, stashing them away in shopping bags before making a hasty exit. Prompt action by General Duties Police led to the apprehension of the suspects not far from the scene, as they allegedly wheeled a trolley laden with their loot.
Following a brief pursuit, authorities managed to detain the 14-year-old suspect. Subsequently, both teenagers were taken into custody and transported to Toronto Police Station. They now face charges of larceny and wearing disguises with intent to commit an indictable offense.
While the 14-year-old remains in custody pending further legal proceedings, the 15-year-old has been granted conditional bail. She is scheduled to appear in Broadmeadow Children’s Court on May 27, 2024, whereas her younger accomplice is set to face court today, April 16, 2024.
