Horror Thursday, 4 dead, 6 Injured.


  • 3 Dead in C-130 Large area tanker crash

Horror Thursday for NSWRFS, as the news broke Thursday afternoon that a large area tanker had crashed killing all 3 American aviation firefighters.

It’s still unclear why the plane has crashed and investigations are ongoing. all C-130s have been stood down. Our thoughts and prayers go out to families of these men who came to Australia to assist with bushfire crisis.

About 10.55pm Thursday 23 January 2020, a NSW Rural Fire Service tanker was travelling north on the Princes Highway at Mogo, when it left the road and rolled down an embankment.

All six crew members were able to remove themselves from the vehicle. They were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics, before being taken to hospital for treatment to non-life-threatening injuries, including neck pain, back pain and lacerations.

The driver has undertaken mandatory blood and alcohol testing.

Police have confirmed a body of a man has been found in a burnt out house on the South Coast this morning after fire impacted the house on sometime on Thrusday.

While the body has not yet been formally identified, it is believed to be that of the 59-year-old male occupant.

Inquiries are continuing and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

Twenty-five people have now died in the bushfire emergency affecting NSW.
