Intoxicated Driver Blows 0.271!
Central Coast Driver Blows 5 Times Over Limit After Crash
On Monday, August 5, 2024, at around 7 p.m., Tuggerah Lakes Highway Patrol responded to a crash on a residential street in Mannering Park. A white Nissan Navara had collided with several bins placed on the kerb. When officers arrived, they found the 55-year-old driver attempting to reverse out of a culvert, only to crash into a parked car before throwing his keys away.
The driver, clearly intoxicated, failed a roadside breath test. He was arrested and taken to Wyong Police Station, where a Breath Analysis showed a staggering 0.271 grams of alcohol in 210 litres of breath—five times the legal limit.
As a result, the driver’s license was immediately suspended and confiscated. He has been charged with driving with a high-range PCA (Prescribed Concentration of Alcohol) and will appear before Wyong Local Court at a later date.
