An important message from Maitland City Council Unfortunately due to the current and forecast weather conditions, the planned 9.00pm New Year’s Eve Fireworks display in Maitland has been cancelled. We had hoped that we might be able to proceed, but following a meeting with representatives from Fire and Rescue NSW, the Rural Fire Service and our pyrotechnicians this morning we collectively decided that the risk of proceeding with the display was too great.
