Newcastle, Friday 25 April 2025 — A man has been arrested as police continue to investigate the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old man at Bar Beach earlier this week. Emergency services were called to the Memorial Drive carpark around 11:40pm on Wednesday (23 April), where they found the victim with a gunshot wound. NSW Ambulance paramedics were unable to revive him, and he died at the scene. Police believe a fight broke out in the carpark before a white SUV arrived.
