A 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged stabbing in Woy Woy last month that left an 18-year-old in critical condition.
Emergency services were called to Ocean Beach Road around 9:30 PM on Thursday, February 27, after reports of an assault. Police were told the victim had been stabbed at a home before being taken to Woy Woy Train Station, where NSW Ambulance paramedics found him with a severe neck wound. He was transported to Gosford Hospital in critical condition but has since been discharged.
Following extensive investigations, police arrested the suspect at a unit in East Gosford yesterday. He was taken to Gosford Police Station and charged with:
- Affray
- Wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm
- Shoplifting, in relation to a separate incident
The man was refused bail and appeared before Gosford Local Court today.
Authorities continue to urge anyone with information about the incident to come forward as investigations remain ongoing.
