Man dies following single-vehicle crash – Lake Macquarie

A man has died following a single-vehicle crash at Lake Macquarie today. About 6am (Monday 31 July 2023), emergency services were called to the M1 Motorway, about 1km north of the Cameron Park exit, Cameron Park, following reports of a crash. Officers from Lake Macquarie Police District attended and found a Subaru station wagon had left the roadway and crashed into a tree. The driver and sole occupant, a 47-year-old man, died at the scene. A crime scene was established and forensically examined, and an investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding the crash. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
