
Motorcyclist Caught Traveling at 193km/h in Somersby: Licence and Plates Confiscated
On Saturday, 14 December 2024, around 6:40 PM, Brisbane Water Highway Patrol officers were conducting speed enforcement on the Old Pacific Highway in Somersby when they detected a BMW S1000 motorcycle traveling at a staggering 193km/h in a 70km/h zone. The rider, who holds an overseas driver’s licence, was stopped and charged with two offences: ‘Exceed speed > 45 km/h’ and ‘Driving at a speed dangerous to the public.’ As a result, the rider’s NSW driving privileges were immediately withdrawn, and the motorcycle’s registration plates were confiscated for three months.
