Mt Arthur Coal Mine could close early as Dan Repacholi plays the blame game

In typical leftie logic, the Member for Hunter, Dan Repacholi, is blaming the Liberal NSW State Government for the consequences of joint State and Federal decision to cap the price of coal.

As a result the decision made by both the woke LNP NSW government and Labor Federal Government, The Mt Arthur Coal mine may cease operations earlier than expected.

BHP had sought an extension to keep the mine going until 2045, but that plan is now at risk due to a crazy Net Zero policy by both major parties.

Dan Repacholi is blaming Matt Kean for the additional requirements for mines to create a stockpile coal for domestic use on top of price caps already to drive domestic prices down.

The NSW Government are putting thousands of jobs at risk by making mines stockpile millions of tonnes of coal in reserve.

Last week I spoke with all of the major mine operators in the Hunter and there are major concerns about this new NSW Government policy.

Matt Kean MP needs to act and understand how this is going to hurt our region.

Dan Repacholi

The Stockpile is really not the issue, and coal mines are looking for any excuse to shut up shop early as Net Zero policies continue to devastate the Industry.

Would you continue to operate a business when Governments are continuously intervening and placing price caps and climate nonsense regulations?

It’s not too late to ditch Net Zero and governments better pull their heads quick smart before are mining industry goes the way of the automotive industry.
