An entire house has been reduced to ashes and two neighbouring properties have been partially damaged following a suspicious fire at Newcastle last night. The emergency services were called to the scene at Lambton Street, Lambton, around 11.45pm (Thursday 30 March 2023) after receiving reports of the blazing inferno. Fortunately, the property was empty at the time, and the residents of the adjacent houses were evacuated safely with no injuries reported.
The police have set up a crime scene to investigate the cause of the fire, which is being treated as suspicious. The officers from the Newcastle City Police District are urging the public to come forward with any information that could assist with the ongoing investigation.
