Police are appealing for assistance after a man was assaulted and robbed during an attempted carjacking in Newcastle. Just after midday (Sunday 27 August 2023), a driver had stopped his white Toyota Corolla hatch at lights on Lookout Road at New Lambton, when he was approached by an unknown man. Police have been told the man – who was armed with a knife – got into the front passenger seat and punched the 21-year-old man before taking a sum of cash and a Rolex watch from him.
